Environmental Policy
- We contribute to a society that promotes the preservation of nature by researching, developing, designing, manufacturing, selling, reusing, recycling, and reducing waste in an environmentally friendly manner to make effective use of resources and by implementing energy-saving measures.
- Promote the following 4R-ECO activities based on the concept of "mottainai" (wastefulness.)
- Reduce means waste reduction and not creating waste in the first place.
- Reuse means to use again and again for a long time.
- Recycle means to utilize resource recovery and to re-circulate after use.
- Respect means caring for the irreplaceable resources of the earth and the people who carry it out.
- We will establish environmental objectives and targets, periodically review them together with our environmental policy, and promote continuous improvement of our environmental management system.
- Comply with environmental laws, ordinances, and other regulations as well as our own regulations.
- Participate in local social contribution activities related to the environment, and engage in steady environmental conservation activities through what each and every one of us can do, such as greening campaigns that take biodiversity conservation into consideration and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

We will ensure the management of chemical substances contained in products under the motto of "do not let in, do not use, do not emit" for regulated substances based on laws and regulations through the following efforts.
- Clarify management standards for chemical substances in products
- Consideration of chemical substances in products from the research and development stage
- Control chemical substances contained in purchased products
- Control manufacturing processes from the perspective of chemical substances contained in products

In line The United States of America, the Sekisui Chemical Group is committed to eliminating conflict minerals (gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), and tin (Sn)) associated with inhumane acts committed by local armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring countries.If our supply chain investigations reveal that any minerals are of concern, we will work with our business partners to take appropriate measures to promote responsible procurement.

In July 2010, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act) was enacted, and implementing regulations were adopted on August 22, 2012. This legislation was enacted against the backdrop of a major international problem in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring countries, where local armed groups are reportedly committing inhumane criminal acts, such as assaults and child labor, against local residents, causing serious human rights violations and environmental destruction.
In particular, locally produced minerals include gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), and tin (Sn), which are rare metals essential to the electrical and electronics industries and the automotive industry. There are concerns that trade in these minerals, so-called conflict minerals, may be a direct or indirect source of funding for local armed groups.
Since Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. is not a company registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), it is not required to disclose information regarding the use of conflict minerals; however, the company will conduct an investigation into the use of conflict minerals throughout its entire supply chain.
